POTENTIAL SECTORS

AGRI & HORTI

Mizoram is known for its rich biodiversity and favorable agro-climatic conditions, which make it suitable for the cultivation of a variety of agriculture & horticulture crops like pineapple, citrus fruits, passion fruit, spices like ginger, turmeric and most significantly, bamboo.

Food Processing

The implementation of the Mizoram Organic Value Chain Development Scheme (MOVCDNER) and the Micro-Food Processing Scheme (PM-FME) in NorthEast India has opened up opportunities for growth in the food processing sector in the region.

 IT & BPM

Mizoram has a  relatively young and educated population, which has resulted in the region's emergencies in IT and Business Process Management  (BPM). The region has a large talent pool, and the availability of skilled and competent human capital coupled with lower operational costs and good connectivity has prompted the establishment of several businesses in the IT & BPM sector in the region.

 SKILL DEVEOLOPMENT

Skilling and skill development in the grassroots sector can play a crucial role in addressing the growing manpower requirements of the region as well as other parts of the country and the world. The region has a large rural population, and there is a need to enhance the skills and knowledge of people in these areas to enable them to contribute to the region's economic growth.

 TOURISM

Mizoram has immense potential for ecotourism, given its unique natural and cultural heritage, which is relatively unexplored. Adventure tourism is also another great potential.
